KingFut – The 27-year-old will become the fourth Moroccan to join the Whites in the last year after Hamid Ahdaad, Khalid Boutiab, and Achraf Benchakri.

The Egyptian Premier League runners-up managed to win the race to sign Ounajem, with the player set to arrive in Egypt in the upcoming few hours.

Zamalek wanted to sign Ounajem as a replacement for key man Mahmoud Kahraba, who joined Portuguese side C.D. Aves on a free transfer against the club’s will.

Ounajem had been at Wydad since 2015, making over 100 appearances for the club and helping them win the 2017 CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, as well as two league titles.

He was in fine form domestically last season as he managed to score five goals while assisting 10 in 23 league games as his side won the Botola.

The former CA Khénifra winger has also guided the club to the CAF Champions League final last season, before losing to Espérance in the final.

On the international level, Ounajem made only one appearance for Morocco, featuring for 15 minutes in a friendly against South Korea in October 2017.

He will become Zamalek’s third summer signing after wingers Achraf Bencharki from Al Hilal and Misr El-Makkasa’s Islam Gaber.
