 The “Digital Giving Hackathon” was concluded in Cairo, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, represented by its “Digital Giving” initiative, in partnership with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “ISESCO” from August 29-31.

 The closing ceremony was attended by the Director-General of ISESCO, Dr. Salem bin Muhammad Al-Malik, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for Capabilities and Future Jobs, Engineer Faris bin Saleh Al-Saqabi, and the Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Development and Development Amr Mahfouz, in addition to To a number of Arab officials and ambassadors.

 The ceremony was opened with a speech by ISESCO Director-General, Dr. Salem Al-Malik, in which he called to encourage young people to create meaningful digital contents in the Arabic language, to enhance its position, spread awareness of its culture, and preserve it from extinction. Digital is of purposeful content that senses the spirit of responsibility and the values ​​of humanity and tolerance.

 For his part, Engineer Faris Al-Saqabi stressed that the digital giving initiative is gaining importance as it is an incentive to motivate the owners of digital skills in spreading knowledge to all members of the Arab community and highlighting distinguished technical models and models, and benefiting the community from technical means in facilitating life, improving performance efficiency and increasing productivity, in addition to spreading A culture of giving in technology, promoting meaningful and constructive cooperation in community service, and building a database of software technologies.

 The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications said: The efforts of the young national and Arab digital capabilities have contributed to making this initiative a reality that we are proud of, highlighting the impressive successes achieved by the initiative in a short period that drew the world’s attention to it, until the number of its beneficiaries reached more than 22 million beneficiaries from 1800 training programs. And 400 experts and strategic partners, while the number of volunteers exceeded 250 thousand volunteers, which qualified it to reach the first place in the World Summit on the Information Society 2020 award presented by the International Telecommunication Union in the path of cultural and linguistic diversity and local content.

 At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Saqabi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the participants in the “Digital Giving Hackathon”, and to everyone who contributed to this great Arab achievement to serve the digital sector in sisterly Egypt.

 During the ceremony, an introductory video was shown about the digital tender initiative and the agreement concluded by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with ISESCO.

 During the ceremony, the projects nominated to win prizes were reviewed, and 3 winners were announced with prizes exceeding 100,000 pounds, where the first place winner received a prize of 50,000 pounds, while the second-place winner received a prize of 35,000 pounds, and the third-place winner received a prize worth 35,000 pounds. 25 thousand pounds.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ambassador Osama Naqli expressed his happiness that the first stop for this initiative is the Arab Republic of Egypt in light of the historical relations between them, stressing the importance of the Digital Giving Hackathon initiative in promoting technical awareness and digital literacy as an important path in line with modern technological development.

 He noted the great efforts and technical achievements experienced by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God preserve them – which included the establishment of digital infrastructure, and then moved to digital transformation in government and societal transactions, which placed the Kingdom in the ranks of developed countries. in the field of electronic transactions.
