President of the Canadian Chambers of Commerce in Cairo praises the efforts of the Ministry of Immigration in the field of training for employment

Ambassador Soha Gendy, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, received Dr. Fayez Ezz El-Din, President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation to serve Egyptians abroad and promote investment in Egypt, in the presence of Ambassador Amr Abbas, Assistant Minister of Immigration for Communities Affairs, Ms. Doaa Qadri, Head of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, Ms Salma Abdel Nasser, Assistant Minister for Communities and International Bodies Affairs, and Mr Karim Hassan, Media Advisor to the Ministry of Immigration.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Immigration praised the efforts of the Egyptian community in Canada in various fields, as they are an important part of Egyptian soft power, with the distinguished efforts they make in Canadian society, which reflects positively on the image of the Egyptian community there, and provides the opportunity for more Egyptians to work in Canada. The Canadian market, due to their rapid integration and tolerant coexistence.

In the same context, the Minister of Immigration confirmed that the Egyptian market is attractive for investments, in light of the legislative amendments made by the state, in addition to providing many facilities to investors, the availability of labor at suitable prices and the large market, which serves the investor in promoting his products.

The Minister of Immigration indicated that we have come a long way in launching the Egyptians Abroad Investment Company, which came within the recommendations of the last edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, and was registered with the General Authority for Investment, and agreements were made with companies specialized in securities management, as well as legal consultations, adding the keenness to Launching in several areas in the first phase, including: tourism, agriculture, and real estate, stressing its keenness to hold periodic meetings with a number of Egyptian investors abroad, to introduce them to the available investment opportunities, whether within the government’s exit program, or in promising investment opportunities, in addition to providing various Facilitations for Egyptians abroad to pump their investments, whether by purchasing shares for small investors, or providing the opportunity for large investors to participate in the company and pump their investments into the national economy.

In the same context, the Minister of Immigration reviewed the efforts to train and qualify young people, through the branches of the Egyptian-German Center for Employment, Immigration and Reintegration, in a number of governorates that export illegal immigration, and the Ministry’s keenness to pay attention to providing trained professional workers, and providing opportunities for young people, regardless of their levels of education and experience. As part of the Ministry’s strategy to promote safe migration, in line with the vision of the political leadership, and efforts to expand into more similar centers, in cooperation with a number of countries, which aspire to replicate the same model, ensuring that young people are acquainted with the culture of the society to which they will immigrate, its language, and the rules that govern various professions. Among these countries: the Netherlands, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and others.

Ambassador Soha Gendi added that we are in the process of working on planning to launch the National Immigration Center, under which the various ministries and relevant Egyptian state institutions will be affiliated, so that it will become the center specialized in training and qualifying youth, in accordance with the latest standards.

Ambassador Soha Gendy indicated that we are keen to cooperate with a number of major companies to provide vocational training and qualifications for young people, and to provide technicians and trained workers, in accordance with the latest international specifications, taking into account the differences between the trainees, taking into account the availability of practical and theoretical training to provide safe job opportunities for young people, and providing contracts. Documented and clear work, in coordination with the entities that bring Egyptian workers to their markets.

The Minister of Immigration continued that we were keen to provide many incentives to Egyptians abroad and to provide more services that came within the demands of Egyptians abroad during the “One Hour with the Minister” meetings, which we are keen to hold regularly to listen to the ideas and proposals of Egyptians abroad, and in which representatives from various relevant state institutions participate to answer inquiries. Egyptians abroad, discuss their proposals, and provide investment opportunities for those interested.

The Minister of Immigration indicated the ministry’s response to the proposals of Egyptians abroad, including reducing airline tickets, providing distinctive lands and housing units for Egyptians abroad, as well as the initiative to import cars for Egyptians abroad, which is currently continuing, and other services and incentives, stressing that various of these features and incentives will be included in the application for Egyptians abroad. Which will include a display of Egyptian heritage products that are popular around the world.

For his part, Dr. Fayez Ezz El-Din, President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, explained that the Egyptian market has become more attractive to foreign investments, and that the Canadian Chamber of Commerce is currently greatly encouraging taking advantage of modern technological progress and artificial intelligence, and is preparing training courses in this field. fields, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Immigration in training for employment to qualify young people for the labor market, adding that the Canadian Chamber of Commerce offers certificates to students and graduates in various fields, including electronic marketing, where hundreds of young people have graduated in a number of specializations.

In a related context, Dr. Fayez Ezzedine, President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, added that the Canadian University is considered the first foreign university to operate in accordance with the Foreign Universities Law in Egypt and was opened in the New Administrative Capital in addition to a number of other institutes.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Immigration confirmed her welcome of various ideas and proposals for joint cooperation with the Commercial Chamber of Canada, explaining that we are all partners in building a strong homeland, which always remains strong through the efforts of its people at home and abroad.
