Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that his Monday visit to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, has paved the way for expanded cooperation in scientific, economic, cultural, and security sectors.

“Yesterday in Baku, we reached agreements and signed documents with my dear brother, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev,” Pezeshkian wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the visit builds trust and opens new horizons for comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

President Pezeshkian also expressed his appreciation to President Aliyev for the warm hospitality.

During the visit, Pezeshkian held talks with Aliyev, attended a conference on Iran-Azerbaijan economic collaboration, and met with members of the Iranian diaspora living in Azerbaijan.

The two presidents signed a joint statement, and officials from both sides signed seven memorandums of understanding.
