On the occasion of Russia’s National Day, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Egypt, Georgy Borisenko, delivered a formal address extending heartfelt congratulations to Russian citizens residing in Egypt and expressing appreciation for the historic friendship between Russia and Egypt.
Borisenko stated that “the Russian state was established in the 9th century, with Kyiv as its capital”, underlining that despite numerous invasions and destructive attempts, Russia has continuously rebuilt and regained its strength and global influence.
In a sharply worded critique, the ambassador warned against “the renewed colonial ambitions of the West,” asserting that, “as with Napoleon and Hitler before, today’s Western powers seek to crush Russia through new instruments,” particularly NATO’s eastward expansion and efforts to use Ukraine as a launchpad for conflict.
He emphasized that “Russia is once again compelled to defend its national security,” describing a confrontation against “deadly Western missiles, aircraft, and tanks targeting our cities.” Yet, he insisted, “this battle is also about defending the right of all nations to live according to their own cultural, historical, and religious values — free from foreign dictates.”
Borisenko praised Russia’s global partnerships, particularly highlighting the long-standing, solid friendship with Egypt, and reaffirmed joint efforts in advocating justice for Palestine. He accused Western powers of complicity in aggression, motivated by lingering colonial ambitions.
The ambassador also pointed to the BRICS alliance as a promising model for a multipolar world order, describing it as a platform for equitable, respectful international cooperation.
He concluded his message by congratulating Russian citizens and friends of Russia on this national occasion, declaring:
“Truth is on Russia’s side, and the future belongs to us.”
