The Libyan capital, Tripoli, has once again become a beacon of knowledge and justice as Prosecutor General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour inaugurated the Second International Book Fair of the Public Prosecution, held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds and running until October 25.

This year’s edition unfolds with remarkable intellectual vibrancy and broad international participation, featuring official delegations from several Arab countries — including Egypt — alongside senior diplomats from the League of Arab States, Khaled Al-Balshi, head of the Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate, and an elite gathering of Arab writers, scholars, and cultural figures.

The opening ceremony also brought together Engineer Essam Al-Aoul, Chairman of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences; Mr. Islam Jaafar, Director-General of the Tripoli International Fair; Mr. Shukri Al-Taif, Deputy Director-General; as well as the President and Members of the Supreme Judicial Council, ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, and prominent intellectuals and media professionals — all united under one roof where law and culture converge in harmony.

Organized and sponsored by the Office of the Libyan Prosecutor General, through the Center for Criminal Research and Training, and supervised by the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, the fair has become one of Libya’s and the region’s most distinguished cultural events. It hosts local and international publishing houses, showcasing hundreds of titles in law, literature, philosophy, and the humanities.

The program features book signings, discussion panels, and creative workshops designed for lovers of reading and thought, while promoting legal awareness and the role of knowledge in upholding justice.

Alongside these activities, the fair also presents specialized lectures on constitutional culture, exploring its role in strengthening national institutions and consolidating the rule of law — reaffirming the Public Prosecution’s commitment to nurturing Arab legal culture and embedding the values of justice and integrity within society.

In Tripoli, books become the language of justice, and through this celebration, the city proclaims that when law walks hand in hand with culture, nations rise — and justice shines brighter.
