Commenting on the recent visit of the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs to several countries in the region, the European Union Ambassador to Egypt, Angelina Eichhorst, affirmed that the European Union greatly values Egypt’s pivotal role as a cornerstone of stability in the Middle East. She noted that this recognition comes within the framework of the EU–Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.
The Ambassador also stressed that the principle of respecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan enjoys strong support within the European Union and across the international community.
She added that the European Union will continue its diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and advancing a lasting path toward peace and stability throughout the Middle East.
