Cairo — As part of the official visit of H.E. Dr. Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, to the Egypt, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, participated in a high-level meeting that brought together the Finnish President and accredited Arab permanent representatives on April 22, 2026. The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the League.

In his address, President Stubb underscored that the profound transformations shaping the international system necessitate deeper coordination and sustained dialogue with Arab nations. He noted that the world is entering a new phase of multipolarity, emphasizing the need to reform and strengthen the role of the United Nations and other international organizations to better reflect current global realities and respond effectively to contemporary political, economic, and environmental challenges.

He further highlighted the importance of reinforcing cooperation among countries of the Global South, alongside building balanced partnerships with Europe. Such efforts, he stressed, would contribute to establishing a more resilient framework of international cooperation grounded in mutual trust and shared interests—one capable of keeping pace with the accelerating geopolitical shifts of our time.

This meeting comes as part of Finland’s broader commitment to expanding avenues of dialogue and cooperation with Arab states, and to strengthening diplomatic bridges with their accredited representatives in Cairo.
