The Embassy of India in Cairo, through the Maulana Azad Indian Cultural Centre, has announced a distinctive artistic initiative: the “Yoga Caricature Contest”, organized in collaboration with Abla Art Foundation, Fayoum Art Center, and Egypt Caricature Blog. The competition comes in celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026, inviting artists to explore the essence of yoga through the expressive lens of caricature.
In recent years, yoga has witnessed a remarkable rise across Egypt, evolving from a niche practice into a widely embraced cultural and wellness phenomenon. This competition seeks to merge the narrative power of caricature with the universal appeal of yoga, offering artists a platform to reflect on its philosophy, discipline, and spirit through bold, imaginative, and thought-provoking visual storytelling.
A specialized jury will carefully evaluate all submissions, selecting three winning artworks to be honored with trophies, certificates, and cash prizes during an official award ceremony held at the Maulana Azad Indian Cultural Centre in Cairo. Additionally, an exhibition featuring all selected caricatures will be आयोजित at the center, allowing the public to engage with a rich diversity of artistic interpretations of yoga.
