CAIRO — The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS), Mr. Nabil Fahmy, issued a sharp condemnation today, warning that Israel’s unchecked pattern of military aggression and illegal land expansion poses a grave threat to international law and regional stability.
The Secretary-General stated that recent developments across the region serve as stark evidence of this dangerous trajectory, highlighting a series of coordinated actions designed to enforce facts on the ground through brute force:

Illegal Expansion & Land Fragmentation: The accelerated implementation of the contentious E1 settlement plan in the occupied West Bank and the issuance of new tenders for settlement units—actions expressly designed to alter demographic and geographic realities, slice the West Bank in two, and permanently sever East Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings.

Violations of State Sovereignty: Recent military strikes penetrating Syrian territory, violating its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Escalations in Lebanon: Persistent air raids and artillery bombardments launched against Lebanese territory.
Mr. Fahmy emphasized that these actions cannot be viewed as isolated incidents or justified under fabricated security pretexts. Rather, they reflect a continuous policy rooted in force, unilateralism, and systemic disregard for state boundaries.
A Call to Enforce Security Council Resolution 2334
The Secretary-General recalled UN Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016), which explicitly declared all Israeli measures aimed at altering the status, character, and demographic composition of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (including East Jerusalem) to be null, void, and without legal effect.
He demanded a firm and decisive stance from the UN Security Council to halt all settlement expansion immediately—a policy clearly designed to execute the systematic destruction of any possibility for a viable, contiguous, and independent Palestinian state.
Undermining the Global Legal Order
Secretary-General Fahmy warned that the ongoing silence of the international community and the persistent absence of concrete accountability serve only to embolden Israel to act entirely outside the bounds of international law.
“This approach does not merely threaten the states of this region,” Fahmy cautioned. “It undermines the credibility of the entire international legal architecture, replacing global legitimacy with the law of force.”
An Appeal for Urgent Action
The Arab League calls upon the UN Security Council and the international community at large to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities. Concrete steps must be taken to halt these ongoing violations and bring an end to the culture of impunity.
Respecting state sovereignty, ending military occupation, and freezing settlement construction are not selective political choices—they are core principles of the international order without which global peace cannot exist.
