NOOOOOO Humanity Without Independence.. Why Donors Reject Israel’s Gaza Aid Model!!!!

In an unprecedented display of unity and direct language, 25 donor countries—including key European and Asian governments—have issued a joint message to both Israel and Hamas: stop politicizing humanitarian aid, and let humanity do its job.
For over two months, humanitarian aid to Gaza has been nearly frozen. Food, medicine, clean water—all have become scarce in a region teetering on the edge of famine. While some media reports speak of a “limited resumption,” donor nations insist that what’s happening is little more than a thinly veiled continuation of a devastating blockade.
The statement firmly rejects Israel’s new proposed model for distributing aid, arguing—alongside the UN and humanitarian NGOs—that it fails to respect core principles of humanitarian work: independence, neutrality, and transparency. Instead, the model is seen as a mechanism to reshape Gaza’s political landscape by tying the delivery of essential supplies to military and strategic goals.
Worse still, this model doesn’t just endanger humanitarian workers. It also risks turning aid recipients—the civilians of Gaza—into political suspects simply because they received food or medical assistance.
The statement also clearly addresses Hamas, urging the immediate release of all hostages and calling for noninterference in aid distribution. Yet it draws a firm line: there can be no trade-off between food and hostages. Humanitarian action must never be politicized.
At the heart of the donors’ message lies a plea for rationality and human dignity: a ceasefire, a two-state solution, and a renewed commitment to humanitarian values—not siege, collective punishment, or using suffering as a bargaining chip.
If not now, then when?
