Rare elements useful for electronic, military industries found in Iran’s mine

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers at Amir Kabir Poly Technique University have founded out that waste soil of Choghart Iron Ore Mine, in Yazd Province, central Iran, is carrying fourteen rare elements which can be used in electronic and military equipment and industries.

Chinese companies have already sought buying the waste soil for industrial purposes.

There are rare and valuable elements seen in the soil which are useful for different industries. There are 10-50 grams of the material in each ton of the iron ore.

The valuable elements found in the mine are elements with numbers in 57-71 Periodic Table.

Cerium, lanthanum and iridium are some material found in the mine which can be used for electronic industries and building circuits.

The elements with high melting temperature are useful in military equipment, building missiles as well as metallurgy and plastic industry.
