Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met this evening at the government headquarters in New Alamein City with Mr. Cedric Cremers, President of Shell Integrated Gas, to review the company’s investment activities in the Egyptian market. The meeting was attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Karim Badawi, and Chairwoman of Shell Egypt, Ms. Dalia El-Gabry.

Dr. Madbouly began by reaffirming that he closely follows Shell’s investment portfolio in Egypt in coordination with the Minister of Petroleum. He emphasized the significant role the company plays in strengthening Egypt’s energy sector and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting foreign investments, especially by ensuring timely payment of dues owed to international partners in the petroleum and natural gas sectors.

Mr. Cremers expressed Shell’s keenness to maintain and expand its partnership with the Egyptian government. He noted that Egypt now ranks fifth globally in exploration activity for Shell—a strong indicator of the country’s strategic value to the company.

He also highlighted Shell’s ongoing cooperation with Egypt in the natural gas sector, both on a regional level and in supplying the country’s energy needs. Cremers reaffirmed Shell’s interest in mobilizing investments from Gulf countries to further support Egypt’s energy development plans.

Minister Badawi thanked Shell for its continued support, especially in boosting natural gas production and supplying shipments that have helped stabilize domestic supply. He also emphasized the ministry’s eagerness to see increased investment from Shell and deeper collaboration on adopting modern, environmentally responsible technologies in the industry.

Ms. Dalia El-Gabry outlined Shell Egypt’s contributions to community development and its adoption of advanced technologies that comply with environmental and civil protection standards.

Prime Minister Madbouly concluded the meeting by expressing his anticipation for further expansion of Shell’s investments in Egypt, particularly given the promising results emerging from recent exploration efforts. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to honoring its financial obligations to foreign partners and facilitating a supportive environment for long-term energy investment.
