The foreign minister Sameh Shoukry said yesterday that the Egyptian government spares no effort to fulfill its commitments towards its people in the field of human rights, including providing adequate and safe housings.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting in Cairo with the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing Leilani Farha, said Mr Ahmed Hafez the the new spokesperson of foreign ministry.
Egypt gives top priority to the file of human rights and recognizes the importance of balanced handling of all human rights, including economic, social and cultural rights, said Shoukry during the meeting.
He also said Egypt considers the right to have a decent house as an integral part of its overall development strategy.
