When You Close Your Eyes to See… and the World Is Blind to Meaning!

A Poem on Silence and Inner Vision

Listen to this article

Poetry Ashraf AboArafe

Keep your eyelids closed…
for sight has long forgotten light,
and eyes no longer mirror truth.
People read faces,
but never the soul behind them —
they confuse glitter with grace,
and sunlight with illusion.

Turn away from the noise,
for some feed on tangled meanings.
They call silence arrogance,
dreams—weakness,
and honesty—a naïve sin.

Close your eyes to see your heart;
there, a hidden light still breathes —
pure, wordless, unbroken —
a place untouched
by the rust of misunderstanding.

Smile as if you were made of dawn,
walk as though you whisper to the clouds,
and guard your ache in silence…
for the world is blind to meaning,
it reads the letters —
but never the poem.
