
Frankfurt, October 14, 2025 (Xinhua) — A promotional event for the English edition of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China” was held in Frankfurt on Tuesday, marking another milestone in the global understanding of China’s modern governance philosophy.
The new volume comprises 91 works by President Xi Jinping, covering 18 key themes discussed between May 27, 2022, and December 20, 2024. These works include reports, speeches, conversations, articles, and directives that reflect Xi’s evolving thought and leadership approach.
Jointly organized by the State Council Information Office of China, the Chinese Embassy in Germany, the China International Communications Group, and the Chinese Consulate-General in Frankfurt, the event brought together diplomats, scholars, and media figures from both China and Europe.
This fifth volume serves as a comprehensive reference encapsulating the latest achievements of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It records China’s journey toward Chinese-style modernization, highlighting the wisdom and global solutions the Communist Party of China contributes to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Distinguished Chinese and international guests emphasized that the insights within the book transcend China’s borders, resonating with the entire world. They noted that the volume’s publication will enable the global community to gain a deeper understanding of China’s achievements, development trajectory, and vision for the new era, fostering a more positive appreciation of the opportunities China offers to the world.
German historian and sinologist Kurt Eberspächer praised the book’s “rich and inspiring content presented through a smooth and elegant translation.”
David Ferguson, a recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award, remarked that the “depth of thought and breadth of practice displayed in the book are both impressive and persuasive.”
Meanwhile, Christina Ferum-Fang, German director of the Confucius Institute in Frankfurt, described it as “a key to discovering the real China.”
During the event, organizers presented English copies of the book to distinguished attendees.
Experts and scholars also held a roundtable discussion titled “Equality and Inclusiveness: From Dialogue Among Civilizations to Global Governance,” exchanging views on topics such as Chinese modernization and the world, advancing the Global Governance Initiative, and mutual learning between Chinese and European civilizations.
