KSA represents Arab Group internationally at UNESCO to discuss future of education after COVID-19

Yesterday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia(KSA), represented by the Ministry of Education and the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to UNESCO, participated in the first meeting of the high-level working group on cooperation mechanisms in the field of global education in the post-Covid-19 pandemic, which was held by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) virtually with the participation of representatives Member States of the Global Steering Committee on Education 2030.

On the side of the Ministry of Education, the Assistant Minister of Education Dr. Saad Al-Fuhaid, the Undersecretary for the Public Education Sector, Dr. Muhammad Al-Muqbel, and the Undersecretary for International Relations Dr. Saleh Al-Qassumi attended.

In this context, Al-Qassoumi stressed the important role of digital transformation to open opportunities for young people to reach their full potential to move forward in light of the challenges of Covid-19, noting the importance of benefiting from the education outcomes of the G20 summit chaired by the Kingdom last year, and activating them in developing educational policies in the coming years.

This meeting comes as a platform for coordination and consultation to support international cooperation in the field of global education to advance the educational process after the Covid-19 pandemic, with the aim of creating effective methodological links for regional and international coordination to enhance communication between regional and intergovernmental organizations and the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development to place education within the sustainable  development 2030.
