 His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Region, inaugurated the exhibition of the architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque, which reviews the history of the expansions that the mosque witnessed since its construction during the era of the Prophet, peace be upon him, through the era of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs and successive eras until the prosperous Saudi era, in addition to some collectibles and artifacts rare associated with it.

 During the opening, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Governor of the region; Prince Faisal bin Salman praised the exhibition, which is the nucleus of a number of museums and exhibitions interested in the historical and Islamic heritage of Madinah, which, God willing, will contribute to satisfying the curiosity of visitors to the Prophet’s city and enrich their trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the incubator of the Two Holy Mosques.

 His Highness pointed out that the architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque throughout the ages is rich in its details and architectural, cultural and historical components, which translates one aspect of this exhibition by displaying the components and holdings of the mosque displayed to be the beginning of a series of new exhibitions such as the Peace Museum, which is being built west of the Prophet’s Mosque.

 His Highness, the Emir of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region confirmed that the exhibition will work directly to preserve and document the history of the architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque from the time of the Prophet to the present time, to emphasize the features of the care and care of this country under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God preserve them – for the cultural and historical heritage of the mosque The Prophet, which represents the approach established by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – in Madinah that any cultural, civilizational or heritage aspects related to the architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque should not be changed or removed. He expressed his pride in the cultural role of the exhibition of the architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque and its rich museum displays, noting the programs of its maintenance, restoration and care under the supervision of skilled specialists in this aspect to re-display the components of the architecture of the second of the Two Holy Mosques in a manner commensurate with its status, as well as the role of this matter in raising the level of awareness The cultural aspect of Islamic civilization among visitors to this blessed country.

 The exhibition aims to highlight the architectural aspects of the Prophet’s Mosque, highlighting its privacy and status, the virtue of its architecture, and its urban characteristics, in addition to displaying unique architectural and historical models, the most important of which is the Qaitbay minbar, which dates back more than 600 years, in addition to a number of collectibles. The valuables deposited in the exhibition, and the exhibition uses modern technologies to display the contents, and depends on the statement of the sequence of architecture of the Prophet’s Mosque in multiple languages.

 It is noteworthy that the exhibition represents an integrated platform that prepares the historical visualization with the realistic viewing and inspection of the Prophet’s Mosque, relying on scientific and cognitive details in cooperation with a number of authorities, including, for example, the Madinah Research and Studies Center in cooperation with the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the Madinah Region Development Authority and the Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Center King Abdulaziz for World Culture “Ithra”.
