President El-Sisi participates in US – Africa Leaders Summit

Yesterday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the capital of the United States of America, Washington, D.C., to participate in the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said that the President intends to focus during the summit on issues of concern to the African countries, in light of the existing global challenges, in addition to strengthening the African-American partnership to confront the food security crisis and ease the integration of African countries into the global economy. This is in order to benefit from the opportunities and advantages it offers to achieve economic growth, transfer technology and drive foreign investment.

The program of the President’s visit includes holding meetings with a number of senior U.S. officials to discuss means of enhancing bilateral ties so ad to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples. The is in addition to continuing consultations and mutual coordination on regional and international files of common interest.

The President is expected to hold a meeting with members of the U.S. business community to discuss ways to advance cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields between the two sides.

On the sidelines of the summit, President El-Sisi will meet with a number of heads of state and government participating in the summit to discuss means of advancing bilateral cooperation frameworks and consulting on various regional and international issues.
