Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met on Monday, December 2, with Mr. Mauro Vieira, Brazilian Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Conference to Enhance Humanitarian Response in Gaza.

The two ministers discussed efforts to provide urgent humanitarian support to the Palestinian people in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, and the need to enhance international coordination to ensure the access of humanitarian aid. The two ministers also exchanged views on current developments in the Middle East, the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and the concerted international efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The meeting also discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Brazil, which are witnessing an increasing development, as reflected in the meeting of the President of the Republic with Brazilian President Lula da Silva in November 2024, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, and the signing of the “Strategic Partnership” document between the two countries. The two ministers expressed their aspiration to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation in various fields and explore new opportunities that serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to tripartite cooperation in Africa.
