 Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will go this evening, Friday, May 3, to the city of Banjul, the capital of the Republic of Gambia, to participate in the fifteenth session of the Islamic Summit Conference, on behalf of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, which will be held on May 4 and 5 under the slogan “Strengthening Unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department, stated that the Islamic Summit is scheduled to address the most important political issues of priority on the agenda of Islamic countries, in addition to economic issues related to accelerating the pace of achieving sustainable development goals, eliminating poverty, and confronting climate change. The summit will also discuss the importance of rejecting hate speech and “Islamophobia” and promoting the spirit of dialogue and tolerance between civilizations, cultures and peoples.

The official spokesman revealed that the fifteenth session of the Islamic Summit Conference will be held this year under the presidency of Gambia, and it is scheduled to issue a final statement that includes the organization’s positions on the issues on the agenda, the “Banjul Declaration,” in addition to a resolution on Palestine.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman concluded his statements by noting that the Foreign Minister’s agenda will include delivering Egypt’s statement on behalf of the President of the Republic, in addition to holding a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the foreign ministers of member states, within the framework of addressing the course of bilateral relations and consulting on the most important regional issues and challenges. and current international.
