Saudi Arabia concludes its participation in the Arab Games held in Algeria, by winning 47 medals

The Saudi teams concluded their participation in the 15th Arab Games in Algeria by achieving 47 medals, after they added yesterday, Friday, the “last day of the tournament” (9 medals), after they participated in 17 games, including 14 Olympic and three Paralympic games, noting that the previous figure was in the 2011 tournament in Doha. Totaled 45 medals.

The under-19 football team won the competition gold by defeating the Syrian national team 4-5 on penalties after the end of the regular time with a positive draw 1-1 in the final that was held at the May 19 stadium in the Algerian state of Annaba.

His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, head of the Saudi delegation to the tournament, crowned the Saudi Karate team player Sanad Sufyani with the gold medal in the +84 kg competition after defeating his Jordanian counterpart, Mahmoud Sajjan, at the end of the karate competitions that were held in the Oval Hall in the Algerian capital, Algeria.

The Saudi table tennis player, Ali Al-Khadhrawi, won the gold medal in the men’s (singles) competition, by defeating his Algerian counterpart, Mahdi Bou Bouloussa, 1/3, in the match that was held in the sports hall in the Algerian state of Tipaza.

The Saudi handball team won the silver medal in the competition by losing in the final of the tournament to its Qatari counterpart, 24-38, in the meeting that brought them together in the city of Oran, and the first session of the meeting ended with the Qatari team 18-14.

In other competitions, the Saudi karate player Manal Al-Zaid won the bronze in the “Women’s Individual Kata” competition, and her colleague Shamsa Al-Muslim won the bronze in the “Kumte” competitions for women over 68 kg, and their colleague Faraj Al-Nashiri won the bronze in the competitions (under 84 kg) in the Kumite category, while Al-Akhdar won Bronze for “Men’s Team Kata” with the participation of Misfer Al-Asmari, Fadel Al-Ghomgham and Abdullah Al-Maliki.

The Saudi weightlifting team player, Nujud Kharmi, won the bronze in the snatch (weight +81), after she lifted 59 kg.

On the other hand, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Algeria, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Busairi, celebrated yesterday with His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, head of the Saudi delegation to the Arab League, and the members of the delegation.
