On the third day of the U.S. Ports Roadshow 2025, U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg led a distinguished delegation of American business leaders to Port Said, a pivotal hub at the crossroads of global trade.

Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE); Admiral Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud, SCZONE Vice Chairman for the Northern Region; and Captain Ahmed Gamal, Vice Chairman for the Southern Region. The Ambassador also met with General Mohab Habbashy, Governor of Port Said, underscoring the city’s growing role in Egypt’s economic future.

The delegation included leading U.S. companies such as Bechtel, Cisco, Hill International, TMEIC, OSI/Rapiscan, Aveva, and Alvarez & Marsal Holdings—all recognized for their expertise in port modernization and global logistics.

Ambassador Mustafa Garg emphasized Port Said’s unique role, declaring:
“Port Said is not just a gateway – it is a hub of energy, innovation, and ambition. The United States recognizes its vital place in global trade and supply chains. Together, we can advance mutual prosperity, create jobs, and strengthen the foundations of economic growth.”

The Ports Roadshow, which launched in Alexandria on September 14 and continued to Damietta on September 15, will proceed to Ain Sokhna and Cairo later this week. By supporting Egypt’s port development, U.S. companies aim to stimulate growth, generate high-quality jobs, and fortify the U.S.-Egypt economic partnership for shared prosperity.
