On Monday, February 17, Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received Mr. Sven Koopmans, the European Union Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, on the sidelines of the fourth meeting of the International Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to work on intensifying the pace of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip in light of the deteriorating conditions in the Strip, and the need to start early recovery and reconstruction programs as soon as possible, noting that Egypt is developing an integrated vision that ensures early recovery and reconstruction with the presence of the Palestinian population on their lands. The Minister provided a detailed explanation of the different stages and timelines of the Egyptian vision for the early recovery and reconstruction plan in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, the European official praised the pivotal role played by Egypt in reaching the ceasefire agreement, and also praised the tireless efforts made by Egypt to formulate an integrated vision for early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza with the presence of Palestinians on their land, expressing his support for these efforts.
