Embassy of Russia welcomes President El-Sisi’s Participation in CELEBRATING the 80th Anniversary of World War II Victory

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt arrived in Moscow today to participate in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, following an official invitation from the Russian side.

President El-Sisi was warmly welcomed by senior Russian officials, including representatives from the Kremlin and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Russian leadership expressed its deep appreciation for President El-Sisi’s presence, describing him as a “dear and long-standing friend.”

President El-Sisi is scheduled to take part in the official Victory Day events on May 9. He will also hold a summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

This visit underscores the strong and growing ties between Cairo and Moscow, which have witnessed significant development in recent years across political, economic, and military fields.
