China looks forward to working with all parties to strengthen the BRICS strategic partnership and hopes that Premier Li Qiang’s upcoming visit to Egypt will further deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.
According to Xinhua, Premier Li will visit Brazil from July 5 to 8 to attend the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, at the invitation of the Brazilian government. Following this, he will pay an official visit to Egypt from July 9 to 10 at the invitation of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that the BRICS cooperation mechanism remains a vital platform for solidarity and collaboration among emerging markets and developing countries.
She added that BRICS also plays a significant role in promoting a multipolar world marked by equality and order, as well as in advancing inclusive economic globalization that benefits all nations.
Mao emphasized that China is eager to work with all partners to deepen the BRICS strategic partnership, uphold multilateralism, promote shared development, improve global governance, and support high-quality cooperation under the broader BRICS framework.
Regarding Li’s upcoming visit to Egypt, Mao described the relationship between China and Egypt as a comprehensive strategic partnership. She noted that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of both countries’ leaders, bilateral ties have flourished, with deepening mutual political trust and fruitful outcomes across various fields of cooperation.
During his visit, Premier Li will hold in-depth discussions with Egyptian leaders on advancing China-Egypt relations, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, and addressing regional and international issues of common concern.
“China looks forward to using this visit to enhance the traditional friendship with Egypt, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and push forward bilateral relations toward the shared goal of building a community with a shared future in the new era,” Mao said.
