The Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to Cairo, H.E. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, hosted a grand reception in celebration of Oman’s National Day, an evening marked by distinguished presence and warm Arab camaraderie.

The event drew an impressive array of high-level attendees, led by H.E. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, representing the Egyptian government; H.E. Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henou, Minister of Culture; the Head of the Administrative Prosecution Authority; and Ambassador Ihab Fahmy, Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs.

They were joined by prominent Egyptian business leaders, dozens of journalists, writers, cultural figures and artists, as well as a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors, members of the Omani diplomatic mission in Cairo, and Omani students studying in Egypt—reflecting the depth and vitality of the bonds between the two nations.

The celebration unfolded in an atmosphere infused with the fragrance of Omani incense and frankincense, accompanied by a remarkable turnout. In his address, Ambassador Al-Rahbi noted that the National Day on November 20 stands as a testament to Oman’s proud history since the establishment of the Al Bu Sa‘id state in 1744. He praised the renewed renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq—may God protect him.

He also highlighted the significant milestones in Oman–Egypt relations during 2025, including the participation of H.H. Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said at the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Oman’s presence as Guest of Honor at the Cairo International Book Fair, and the fruitful Arab coordination that contributed to the election of Dr. Khaled El-Anany as Director-General of UNESCO.

Ambassador Al-Rahbi underscored the steady growth of economic cooperation between the two countries, noting that the number of companies with Egyptian capital operating in Oman reached 4,763 by September of this year. He also referred to the “Oman–Egypt: Land of Opportunities” forum, organized in collaboration with official entities and the private sector in Egypt, which explored promising avenues for investment and economic integration.
