Ain Sokhna, September 17 – On the final stop of the U.S. Ports Roadshow, U.S. Ambassador Herro Mustafa Garg led a high-level delegation of American companies to Ain Sokhna, a strategically vital Red Sea port and cornerstone of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
The delegation was received by Captain Ahmed Gamal, Vice Chairman of SCZONE for the South Sector. While in Suez Governorate, Ambassador Mustafa Garg also met with Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez, and toured the Suez National Museum, home to a rich collection that chronicles the city’s history from the Pharaonic era to modern times.
Representatives from Bechtel, Cisco, Hill International, TMEIC, OSI/Rapiscan, Aveva, and Alvarez & Marsal Holdings accompanied the Ambassador, bringing global expertise in port modernization and expansion.
Highlighting the significance of Ain Sokhna, Ambassador Mustafa Garg remarked:
“Ain Sokhna Port is being designed for the future – not just for Egypt, but for the entire region. Together, we can drive mutual prosperity, generate jobs, and build a world-class hub at the heart of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.”
The Ports Roadshow, which began in Alexandria on September 14, proceeded through Damietta and Port Said before concluding in Ain Sokhna and moving on to Cairo. By engaging with Egypt’s port development, U.S. companies are contributing to economic growth, supporting job creation, and reinforcing the U.S.–Egypt partnership for shared prosperity.
