Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Georgiy Borisenko, addressed the Egyptian people in a speech on the occasion of the third anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which came as follows:
Dear Egyptian friends,
February 24 marks three years since the start of the special military operation aimed at saving the historical Russian lands from the Ukrainian neo-Nazis and ensuring Russia’s national security from Western aggression. Before that, in December 2021, the previous US administration and NATO member states arrogantly rejected our proposal not to turn Ukraine into a military launching pad against us and then pushed the Kiev regime that it controls into another attack on Donbas.
We had no other choice but to rush to the aid of our brothers there who were defending themselves from the attack and to defend ourselves.
Since then, the ongoing arms supplies to Kiev are a factor fueling the conflict that we initially proposed to resolve peacefully. Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky, whose presidential legitimacy expires in May 2024, continues to send new brigades into battle in a drug frenzy. He has killed and maimed more than a million of his soldiers, although he will not last even two months without significant help from the Americans and Europeans. Incited by NATO members, who still dream of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on our country, he is ready to fight to the last Ukrainian and send young people to the front, just to inflict more damage on us and at the same time fill his pockets with money from Western aid.
Over the past three years, despite military pressure and sanctions, Russia has become stronger, its economy has become stronger and it has forged a new formidable weapon. At the same time, I have never wanted bloodshed and remain open to peaceful negotiations, but our conditions remain unchanged.
Ukraine must be demilitarized so that it does not pose a threat to us in the future and must be denazified, since the majority of its Russian population is currently deprived of the right to their native language and young people are misled from school by widespread false propaganda, as in Germany under Hitler.
It is also required to stop the occupation of all Russian territories and to legislate unconditional renunciation of membership in the blocs hostile to us and the deployment of any military infrastructure to the West.
These goals have not yet been achieved, the evil enemy does not want peace. That is why he attacks the Russian army.
