Egypt is closely following with deep concern the recent developments between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, following an exchange of shelling that reportedly resulted in casualties and injuries.
In an official statement, Egypt emphasized the urgent need for both countries to exercise maximum restraint and to take all possible measures to de-escalate the situation and defuse tensions. The statement warned against the risk of further deterioration, which could threaten stability across the region.
Egypt also called on both India and Pakistan to prioritize dialogue through diplomatic channels and reaffirmed its support for peaceful solutions that meet the aspirations of both friendly peoples for calm and stability.
