In an unprecedented act of international solidarity, a coalition of unions, rights groups, and activist movements from more than 32 countries has launched the “Global March to Gaza”, set to begin on June 15, 2025, with participants walking into Gaza from the Egyptian side.
🚶♀️ Over 10,000 Participants to Join the March from Arish to Gaza
Saif Abu Kishk, President of the International Coalition Against Israeli Occupation, announced that more than 10,000 individuals have registered their interest in joining. Participants are scheduled to arrive in Cairo on June 12, then travel to Arish, and from there begin their historic march to Gaza on June 15.
🤝 Coordination with Egyptian Authorities and Global Support
Karen Moynihan, the Irish coordinator of the march, told Al Jazeera that organizers have been in contact with Egyptian officials, and that each participating country has coordinated with its local embassy or consulate.
She stressed that the initiative is not aimed at Egypt, but rather reflects a call for cooperation, while seeking to increase international pressure on Israel to end its blockade of Gaza.
🕊️ A Peaceful Global Call for Human Dignity
Organizers say this march is a non-violent, grassroots expression of solidarity with the people of Gaza, and a message to the world that civil societies will rise when governments remain silent. The initiative seeks to reignite global attention on Gaza’s plight, inspiring collective action for justice and peace.
