His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, appreciated the role of the State of Qatar, led by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, may God protect him and grant him peace, in enhancing joint Arab action and defending the issues of the Arab nation, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue.
This came during the meeting of the Speaker of the Arab Parliament with His Excellency Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament also praised the role played by the Qatari Shura Council, led by His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, in the field of parliamentary diplomacy, and its role in enhancing joint Arab parliamentary action, stressing the Arab Parliament’s aspiration to coordinate and consult continuously with the Qatari Shura Council in everything that serves joint Arab parliamentary action.
Al Yamahi stressed that the Arab Parliament is keen in its new phase to strengthen its relations with all Arab parliaments and national councils, in a way that enhances the role of Arab parliamentary diplomacy in serving the interests of the Arab people and defending Arab issues.
For his part, His Excellency Ambassador Tariq Al Ansari renewed his congratulations to His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi on the occasion of his election as Speaker of the Arab Parliament, wishing him all success and guidance in performing his duties, stressing the importance of the pivotal and important role played by the Arab Parliament in defending Arab issues, as it is the voice and pulse of the Arab street.
His Excellency Ambassador Tariq Al Ansari also stressed the interest and keenness of the Qatari Shura Council to strengthen Arab parliamentary relations at all bilateral and collective levels, in a way that enhances Arab solidarity in facing the current challenges facing the Arab nation.
The meeting was attended from the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament by His Excellency Counselor Kamel Mohammed Farid Shaarawy, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Mudar Al Rawi, Director of Presidential Affairs, and Dr. Ashraf Abdel Aziz, Political Advisor to the Speaker of the Arab Parliament and Director of the Foreign Relations Department.
