In the Western Fleet, the mixed naval exercise (Red Wave-5) which is carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, was concluded, with the participation of the naval forces of the countries bordering the Red Sea, namely Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, Djibouti and Somalia, in addition to the participation of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, the Royal Saudi Air Force, and the Guards. The Red Wave-5 maneuvers witnessed the implementation of many combat exercises, such as clearing fortified sites, storming, live shooting, and land operations, while a number of naval units participated in the exercise, with the support of combat and helicopters, to carry out tactical tasks to achieve the principle of joint action, and to show the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in an appearance that reflects The development and distinction of the Saudi armed forces internationally.
The Commander of the Western Fleet, commander of the exercise, Marine Major General Yahya bin Muhammad Asiri, stressed that the maneuvers aim to enhance military cooperation, unify concepts, raise combat readiness, and exchange experiences, explaining that the exercise contributes to developing security capabilities to protect and safety seas and regional and international waterways, and ensure freedom Maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
