Reorted by MENA that Al Azhar Observatory for Fighting Extremism expressed its complete rejection and denunciation of a cartoon republished by the French Charlie Hebdo magazine on Wednesday 2/9/2020 defaming Prophet Muhammad of Islam.

In a released statement, Azhar warned that repeating the crime of publishing such cartoons will fuel the hatred discourse and flare up negative sentiments among followers of religions.

It will also prevent coexistence of followers of different religions as it provokes without any reason the sentiments of around two billion Muslims, added the statement.

Azhar, meanwhile, condemned once again a criminal attack against the offices of the magazine that was committed in 2015 in response to publishing the cartoon at that time.

Azhar confirmed that Islam rejects all forms of violence and urged the magazine officials to respect other religions.

Azhar lauds Germany for forming committee against animosity to Islam

On the other side, Al Azhar Observatory for Fighting Extremism lauded on Wednesday 2/9/2020 the German Interior Ministry for forming a committee for confronting animosity against Islam.
In a statement, the observatory said that this animosity does not only constitute a threat to Muslims but to the societal coherence in general.
The committee includes 12 members and will start activities next month.
The committee, added the observatory, is a step along the right path towards fighting animosity against Islam, it added.
