Strengthening communication with Egyptians abroad, Minister Soha Gendi receives representative of Egyptian Forum in “Johannesburg”

Mary Khella: Egypt is a vital and important market, and we seek to promote the state’s achievements and enhance cooperation

Ambassador Soha Gendy, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affair, received Ms. Marie Khella, President of the Egyptian Forum in Johannesburg, within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Immigration and representatives of Egyptian entities abroad.

For her part, Ambassador Soha Gendy explained that the ministry seeks to coordinate with various ministries and state institutions to provide incentives to Egyptians abroad, to maximize investments in Egypt, as well as to provide various facilities to facilitate remittances of Egyptians from abroad.

The Minister of Immigration confirmed that she is keen to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad, within the implementation of the recommendations of the third edition of the Conference of Egyptian Entities Abroad and to enhance cooperation with African brothers, based on Egypt’s vision of cooperation with the peoples of the brown continent under the new republic.

The minister added that there is complementarity between government efforts and Egyptians abroad, to achieve sustainable development goals, within the framework of concerted efforts to benefit from the soft powers of our children abroad, and to promote investment opportunities in Egypt.

In the same context, Ms. Marie Khella, Head of the Egyptian Forum in Johannesburg, explained that there are great efforts to promote the achievements of the Egyptian state, as she reviewed the efforts of the Forum since its inception in 2012, including the invitation of a number of African media professionals to meet with Her Excellency the Minister of Immigration and the Chairman of the General Investment Authority Introducing the industrial investment map in Egypt, the facilities it provides for investors, a legal environment and infrastructure development, to attract investments, as Egypt represents an important and vital market.

On the efforts of the Egyptian community in South Africa, Ms. Marie Khella explained that there is great cooperation with the Egyptians and their brothers there, as the people of the community are keen to provide their services in the fields of medicine, education, engineering and others, noting that her husband works as a doctor there, and provided his services to thousands of patients from the community and Africans.

Khella indicated that she won the honor of chairing the Egyptian Forum in “Johannesburg” for two sessions, stressing her welcome to support Egyptians in South Africa and to provide legal advice as a lawyer, in addition to introducing them to the laws regulating the state as well as their rights and duties.
