Cambodia – His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia received His Highness, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, who praised the Cambodian model in achieving the harmony of its national diversity, praising the distinction of this harmony included in its Islamic component that enjoys With his full religious freedom, his patriotic brothers live with everyone in an image that reflects the high level of awareness and national cohesion.

For his part, His Majesty praised the tangible impact of the League’s efforts to strengthen the civilizational alliance between diversity around the world, and raise awareness among Muslim societies.

Dr. Al-Issa visited the Islamic Center in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, and met with Cambodian Islamic leaders who praised the efforts of the League around the world, expressing their pride in the reputation it enjoys among senior political, parliamentary and religious leaders in Cambodia as a model among the international models that celebrate the League around the world, which is reflected positively significantly and directly on the Muslim minorities.

Sheikh Al-Issa also delivered the Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque in the capital, Phnom Penh, at the request of the Islamic religious leadership in Cambodia. In his sermon – which was witnessed by hundreds of worshipers – he addressed four central themes of concern to the Islamic components in their national societies.

Dr. Al-Issa met with the Grand Buddhist patriarch of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Tep Fong, and Patriarch Bor Keri, who stressed that the visit is “historic for the Cambodian people, and was not preceded by an Islamic personal visit of Dr. Al-Issa’s stature known to the Buddhist nation”, stressing its importance for strengthening cooperation between followers of religions.

The Royal University of Phnom Penh also hosted His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa, and he was received by His Excellency the Cambodian Minister of Education, His Excellency the Prime Minister, His Excellency the Rector of the University, in addition to a group of professors, researchers, students, and senior officials from local leaders. It is the largest university in the country, established before 62 years old, with twenty thousand students studying in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, where His Excellency delivered a lecture entitled: “Our Common Values ​​and the Civilizational Alliance”.

His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the prestigious university, from which a number of Cambodian leaders graduated, and then praised the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence adopted by the Cambodian people, which became an inspiring model in combating all forms of hatred, racism and discrimination.

After that, His Excellency spoke about the common values ​​among human beings, considering them an embodiment of civilization and awareness in its full meaning. These values ​​granted all national components in Cambodia their full rights, despite the difference in religion and ethnicity, and this is what made modern Cambodia live in security and stability, which was reflected in national growth Growing, and the depth of love between groups of people.

Then His Excellency pointed out that the common values ​​are the moral human bond, and that they mean the moral alliance of human diversity, whether it is religious, cultural or otherwise, and it also means the affirmation that diversity among human beings is united by points of convergence around it, which is capable of bringing peace to our world and our societies. National.

His Excellency cautioned that recalling common values ​​is not enough, but joint action must be taken in the light of these values, and that the work should be serious and effective, have a tangible impact, and can be measured and evaluated.

His Excellency then addressed the Riyadh Forum, which was held last month on common religious values, and was an important turning point in the relationship between followers of religions and civilizations, in which a number of religious thinkers and political officials concerned with the Alliance of Civilizations participated, which recommended the establishment of a forum for religious diplomacy in order to build bridges between civilizations, and also recommended the issuance of a global encyclopedia of human joints, which the Association is working on with its partners.
