Aboul Gheit also stressed the importance of concerted diplomatic efforts after stopping the military operation to build on the Security Council’s decision to achieve stability and provide a political horizon for the emergence of the Palestinian state, stressing that expanding the scope of recognition The International Conference on the State is the right way to start the settlement process on a correct basis, calling on Britain to take the decision to recognize the Palestinian state as a step in the right direction in order to achieve peace on the basis of the two-state solution.

Rushdi said that the British minister agreed with the Secretary-General on the importance of implementing the Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire, as well as on the necessity of bringing in aid via land routes, which cannot be compensated by sea or air.

The spokesman confirmed that both the Secretary-General of the League and the British Minister discussed at length the future of the Gaza Strip within the broader framework of implementing the two-state solution, where Aboul Gheit stressed that the absence of a political horizon for the Palestinians is sufficient to thwart any positive efforts for reconstruction or restoration of calm, stressing that the Palestinian issue is political. in the first place.
