More than 70 TV series compete for the “Al Dana Drama Award

The Ministry of Information in the Kingdom of Bahrain announced the closing of nominations for the “Al Dana Drama Award”, which is held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and organized by the Ministry of Information in cooperation with Gulf Radio and Television. In conjunction with the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in late May.
On this occasion, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, praised Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s sponsorship of the “Al Dana Drama Award,” which represented an incentive to increase the interest of creators and artists to apply for the honor of winning the award.
He stressed that the “Dana Drama Award” represents an important qualitative development that would enrich the competition between Gulf and Arab artists and dramatic content makers through the Gulf Radio and Television Festival portal, which occupies a distinguished position on the map of artistic festivals in the region.
Al Nuaimi pointed out that the number of Gulf and Arab works that submitted for the award in its ten categories amounted to more than 70 diverse television series, and the jury, consisting of a number of senior critics and specialists in the artistic field from the Gulf and Arab countries, will evaluate and sort the submitted works, and then announce the names of the nominees. On the award’s website, the winners will be announced and the awards will be handed over at the opening of the festival.
He expressed his sincere appreciation for the efforts made by the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation in order to advance the artistic movement in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, through the production and support of television and dramatic works that carry purposeful messages and express the identity of the countries and peoples of the Council, and the Council’s keenness to advance Gulf art to assume the position it deserves, especially in light of the creative energies possessed by the GCC countries in various sectors of the arts.
He praised the existing cooperation between the Ministry and Gulf Radio and Television in preparing for the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, stressing the Ministry’s keenness for this year’s edition to be more distinguished and brilliant at all levels. His happiness wished all applicants for the “Dana Drama Award” continued success and brilliance.
For his part, Majri bin Mubarak Al-Qahtani, Director-General of the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation, Secretary-General of the Festival, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Ministry of Information, for its permanent cooperation with the agency within the framework of the joint keenness to advance Gulf media and drama, praising the facilities provided by the Kingdom. And your efforts for the success of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival in its successive sessions, which are held in Bahrain every two years.
He stressed that the size of the demand for participation in the “Al Dana Drama Award”, in its first edition, reflects the extent to which artistic works makers are aware of its importance and its impact on the future of Arab and Gulf drama, noting that the award encourages artists to continue development to provide the best at the level of drama, wishing all participants in the award Success and success.
It is noteworthy that the “Dana Drama Award” includes 10 categories: Best Gulf Drama Work (Social Series, Comedy Series), Best Arab Drama Work, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Rising Actor (Young Actor, Young Actress), Best Soundtrack, Best Screenplay, and Best Director.
