Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation today with His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to exchange greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
During the warm and cordial exchange, the Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt Eid wishes to the leadership, government, and people of Egypt. He expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s constructive role and peace-building efforts during the recent Pakistan-India crisis. The leaders also discussed developments in the Middle East.
Recalling his visit to Cairo in December last year to attend the D-8 Summit, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen and deepen its close and friendly relations with Egypt—particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and healthcare.
President El Sisi warmly reciprocated the Prime Minister’s Eid greetings and extended best wishes to the people of Pakistan. He expressed Egypt’s strong interest in enhancing bilateral ties and commended Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace in South Asia.
