The Russian Engineering School project has officially been launched at the Botanic Educational Center, marking a new step in educational and cultural cooperation between Russia and friendly nations. The initiative is organized by the Russian Federal Agency for International Cooperation and the Ordzhonikidze Russian State University of Geological Survey, in collaboration with 10 partner countries.
Daria Matsuk, Director of the Botanic Educational Center, explained that the program aims to spark children’s curiosity not only in science and technology, but also in the Russian language and culture.
The school will offer three educational tracks, enabling students to explore the fundamentals of robotics—from design to manufacturing—using advanced computer programs.
“We use the curricula of the Russian Ministry of Education. Russian-speaking children and Egyptian youth alike will join the program, which is free of charge and supervised by specialized professors,” Matsuk noted.
She emphasized that learning technology in this environment also enhances Russian language proficiency while connecting students to cutting-edge engineering and robotics practices.
Dr. Vadim Zaichikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, highlighted that engaging with youth remains a top priority.
He added:
“The Russian Engineering School will not only help discover new talents, but also guide children toward their future educational and professional pathways, including studying at Russian universities. It is crucial to encourage school students to participate in scientific activities and gain exposure to modern technologies, especially in high-demand engineering fields.”
