On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Egypt celebrated this global event, reaffirming that tourism is not merely the movement of travelers, but rather a human and cultural bridge that fosters understanding among nations and drives sustainable development.
In his remarks, Ambassador Wilmer Omar Barrientos emphasized that the partnership between Venezuela and Egypt has grown into a dynamic strategic alliance, embodied in an ambitious national project designed to promote Venezuelan tourism flows to Egypt while encouraging Egyptians to discover the rich and diverse treasures of Venezuela.
This collaboration goes far beyond numbers and tourist statistics; it reflects a commitment to exchanging expertise and best practices in tourism management, grounded in Egypt’s unrivaled cultural heritage and Venezuela’s breathtaking natural landscapes and diverse traditions.
The initiative also coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, adding a historical depth and symbolic resonance to current and future cooperation efforts.
To mark this milestone, the Venezuelan Embassy will host an international online symposium on Saturday, October 4, bringing together distinguished academics and experts in tourism education from Venezuelan and Egyptian universities. The event will highlight innovative perspectives and experiences on how to develop the tourism sector and expand its horizons for the benefit of both nations.
In essence, the celebration conveys a clear message: tourism is not only an economic force, but also a language of peace, dialogue, and the meeting point of civilizations.
