As part of the celebrations marking 30 years of Korean–Egyptian relations, the Korean Cultural Center in Cairo will host a musical performance on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. This event is one of the highlights of Korea Week, which also includes Korea’s National Day, Korean Tourism Night, and the Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championship.

The performance will feature the Korean ensemble Tamtie, founded in 2003 and composed of four artists with disabilities. Known for its unique blend of traditional Korean rhythms—Samulnori—with contemporary visual and musical experiments, the group delivers a powerful artistic message: music has the power to inspire hope and overcome challenges.

The name Tamtie symbolizes struggle, perseverance, and resilience. In 2012, the group released its first album, Journey of Hope, underscoring its commitment to creative modern Korean music. For over two decades, the ensemble has captivated audiences with innovative works that combine music, personal storytelling, and multimedia art. Their performances not only promote Korean traditional music on the global stage but also raise awareness about disability issues, highlighting the extraordinary talents of differently abled artists.

Their arrival in Egypt reflects more than a cultural celebration; it embodies a journey of determination and inspiration, transforming the occasion into a message of hope and renewal.

The concert is set to present a fusion of the haegeum (the Korean traditional fiddle) and keyboard, interwoven with the creativity of the global music group Jong Myung. Together, they will craft a rich artistic tapestry that blends authenticity with innovation, offering audiences an exceptional musical experience that symbolizes the spirit of connection between Korea and Egypt.

In his remarks on the occasion, Oh Seong-ho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt, emphasized that the concert embodies the depth of Korean–Egyptian relations and underscores the vital role of culture in strengthening mutual understanding and bringing people closer together.
