An Evening of Diplomacy and Cultural Harmony on the Nile

Against the elegant backdrop of the Nile, the Embassy of the State of Qatar hosted its annual National Day celebration at one of Cairo’s prestigious hotels, gathering senior officials, diplomats, media figures, and cultural elites in an atmosphere that blended formality with warm Arab hospitality.

The celebration was inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt, who welcomed the distinguished guests, foremost among them H.E. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, First Deputy Prime Minister, attending on behalf of the Prime Minister of Egypt.

In his address, Ambassador Al Thani highlighted the steady growth of Qatar–Egypt bilateral relations across political, economic, and cultural spheres. He underscored the depth of coordination between the two countries on regional issues, particularly their shared efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause and the recent mediation initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.

Guests were received by H.E. Ambassador Mariam Al Sheibi, who supervised the organization of the event, which reflected refined Qatari taste and meticulous attention to detail. The evening featured traditional Qatari folkloric performances, offering attendees a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Qatar, followed by a formal dinner that fostered dialogue and cordial exchanges among participants.

The event was attended by a broad spectrum of diplomats, political figures, journalists, intellectuals, and representatives of civil society, reinforcing the celebration’s role not only as a national commemoration, but also as a platform for strengthening people-to-people ties and diplomatic engagement.

The National Day reception reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and constructive regional partnerships, while highlighting Cairo’s enduring role as a central hub for Arab and international diplomatic life.
