AT the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Ottawa, Ambassador Tariq Al-Ansari announced the launch of the Year of Culture: Qatar–Canada 2026, marking a new chapter in cultural diplomacy between the two friendly nations.
The event was attended by Mr. Yasir Naqvi, Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and the Minister of State for International Development, alongside His Excellency Mohammed Al Kuwari, Advisor for the Year of Culture – Latin America. The occasion highlighted the vision and objectives of the Year of Culture, aimed at strengthening cultural understanding, deepening people-to-people ties, and building lasting bridges of dialogue between societies. It also built upon the positive momentum in bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and Canada, particularly following the successful official visit of the Canadian Prime Minister to Doha.
