On an evening where light shimmered softly along the banks of the Nile, the Egyptian Opera House became a sanctuary of music on March 27—an evening that felt less like a concert and more like a message of harmony crossing borders. Two renowned Russian ensembles, the Turetsky Choir and the Soprano Group, wove together beloved Russian songs with popular international melodies, painting a sonic tapestry rich with warmth and connection.
With the support of the Russian Embassy in Cairo, the event gathered a distinguished audience of Egyptian social and political figures, diplomats, and members of the Russian community—transforming the grand hall into a living bridge between cultures, united by rhythm and resonance.
In his welcoming remarks, Russia’s Chargé d’Affaires in Egypt, Yuri Matveev, reflected on the significance of these musical tours across Cairo and Alexandria—not merely as performances, but as lyrical bridges strengthening friendship and deepening the bonds between two peoples.
As the final note lingered in the air, silence did not follow. Instead, the audience rose in unison, offering heartfelt applause to Mikhail Turetsky and the performers—an expression of gratitude for an evening that stirred not only the ears, but the soul.
