🇷🇺🇪🇬 Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of Russia and Chairman of the Maritime Board, has arrived in Egypt on an official working visit.

🤝 In Cairo, Patrushev is holding bilateral consultations focused on strengthening maritime cooperation between Russia and Egypt.

💬 During his meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, discussions centered on expanding collaboration and exchanging expertise in transport infrastructure and logistics development.

☝️ With the participation of representatives from relevant Russian and Egyptian ministries, agencies, logistics companies, shipbuilding institutions, and scientific organizations, both sides reviewed in detail prospects for cooperation in commercial shipping. This includes developing new maritime routes and enhancing port infrastructure in both countries.

🌍 Patrushev emphasized that Russia and Egypt, given their unique geographic positions, serve as vital links in the global logistics architecture. While Egypt oversees the Suez Canal, Russia manages the Northern Sea Route—an emerging Arctic transport corridor. He noted that both pathways could operate in complement, enhancing connectivity between Asia, Africa, and beyond.

🌾 He further highlighted strategic initiatives in maritime logistics, including a recently proposed project by President Vladimir Putin to establish a grain and energy hub in Egypt. Russia, a leading global food supplier, channels a significant share of its exports toward South Asia and Africa—regions where Egypt plays a central logistical role.

👏 In conclusion, Patrushev reaffirmed that both nations are committed to increasing bilateral cargo turnover, deepening cooperation, and advancing shared expertise in transport and logistics infrastructure development.
