The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Cairo, in cooperation with the Al-Wafaa Association for Development, organized a popular iftar for 500 people in the Shubra district.
A large number of Egyptian families with limited incomes, people with disabilities, and those in need of social support attended the iftar, along with a remarkable number of children.
In his speech during the iftar banquet held on Wednesday, March 26, Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen emphasized that, as he always says, the holy month of Ramadan is at the forefront of the religious and national values that unite the peoples of Turkey and Egypt. He emphasized that it is the duty of every Muslim to help one another and engage in solidarity activities during the month of Ramadan.
Ambassador Şen explained that this activity is an Islamic duty, but at the same time, it is also an act of solidarity, and it makes him feel great joy and honor as a Turk, as he does not differentiate between the Egyptian people and his Turkish people, nor can he see any difference between them.
Ambassador Shen thanked the participating Egyptian families, especially the children, for their participation in this iftar and asked them to pray for him and his family.
After iftar, Ambassador Saleh Mutlu Shen presented the children with Eid gifts and a T-shirt provided by LC Waikiki.
