Mr president: Egypt keen on boosting ties with Tanzania

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Wednesday 13/3/2019 Egypt is looking forward to promoting distinguished relations with Tanzania in the various fields in light of the successful visit paid by the Tanzanian president in August 2017.

During a meeting with Tanzanian Defense Minister Hussein Ali Mwinyi, in the presence of Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki and the Tanzanian ambassador in Cairo, President Sisi pointed out to signing a contract to establish the Stiegler’s Gorge Dam to generate hydraulic energy between Egyptian companies and the Tanzanian side and the Egyptian prime minister’s visit to the country to attend the launching ceremony of the project.

President Sisi welcomed military cooperation between the two countries especially in light of holding the military cooperation committee meetings in Cairo, co-chaired by the defense ministers of both countries, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

The Tanzanian official asserted his country’s keenness on promoting relations with Egypt in all domains.

The meeting covered bilateral relations and cooperation and mechanisms of consultation and exchanging views on the latest issues in Africa in light of Egypt’s chairmanship of the African Union.
