Egypt & Tanzania defense ministers discuss facing terrorism in Africa

Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki met on Wednesday 13/3/2019 with his Tanzanian counterpart Hussein Ali Mwinyi and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Egypt.

An official reception was given to the Tanzanian minister at the headquarter of the Ministry of Defense and national anthems of both countries were played.

The two ministers held talks on the latest developments in the African continent given the ongoing fight against terrorism.

The two sides co-chaired the first Egyptian-Tanzanian military cooperation committee, which took up several files regarding partnership relations between both countries.

They also signed several memorandums of understanding between the Armed Forces in both countries on exchanging expertise in various fields.

Zaki asserted solid relations between Egypt and its African countries, expressing the keenness of the Armed Forces in both countries to boost military cooperation.

For his part, the Tanzanian minister confirmed that relations between both countries are significantly developing in various domains of mutual concern, hailing Egypt’s effective role in both regional and international arenas.
