In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs toay March 18, the Arab Republic of Egypt expressed its sincere condolences to the victims of floods in Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, resulting in the death of at least 150 people and the injury of hundreds of others. .

Egypt expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery to the injured, and confirmed its stand with the governments and peoples of sister countries of Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe in the crisis.

According to SABC,  at the same time the South African National Defence Force has deployed humanitarian teams to Malawi and Mozambique. 10 military health practitioners, with search and rescue air assets, have been dispatched to the two countries. Both countries suffered widespread flooding. Power and communication lines have also been affected.
